New Year, New Me, New Blog

Hello everyone!

It’s been quite a long time since I have updated this blog but now that pandemic has calmed down and I have gotten back into a reading groove, I’ve been wanting to dive back into the bookish world. My tastes in books have changed a bit but I’m excited to move forward with new content since I have grown as a reader.

I have a few posts lined up, but I’d love to know what kind of content readers are now looking for in blogs. Reviews and monthly wrap ups are at the top of my list but let me know what you think!

Synopsis:

Kaylan’s life as she knew it is over. Again.

Hunted by the guards of Edriast and their ruthless captain, Kaylan is forced to flee into a world she’s never seen, armed with a power she never wanted. With her brother Elias by her side, she escapes to the distant city of Stynos, where rumour has it a possible ally is waiting… An ally who might help Kaylan control the violent magic that’s become her burden to bear.

But Kaylan can’t hide forever – not from the forces that surround her, or from the darkness inside herself. Rebel leader Bellamy seeks her help to destroy a regime; Captain Thorn pursues her with a vengeance; and as her power grows, her inner demons begin to seep through the cracks…

Kaylan may be strong, but is she strong enough to resist the Relic?

Q&A with Dawn of Mist’s Helen Scheuerer

As you all know, I’m a huge fan of Helen’s YA fantasy series The Oremere Chronicles and I have been lucky enough to get to interview Helen once again for her new book that is releasing this week – Dawn of Mist.

I recently reviewed the book, which you can find here (I highly recommend picking it up after it launches!). In this interview, I got to ask a few questions that were plaguing my mind and a few curiosity questions as well. I hope you all enjoy it and there are links to find both Helen and Dawn of Mist below!

Hiatus

Hello All,

Thank you to the many authors who have contacted me recently about book reviews. Currently, I have a lot going on in my personal life and I’m trying to get back into my reading groove to finish up ARCs that I currently have for books that have released. As soon as I am back into the swing of things, I will open my email up and look at requests again. I hope it will be soon because I love this blog and connecting with new people. Please be patient with me as I try to get past this little slump. Thank you again for everyone who has expressed how much they enjoy my blog and have sent requests.

First Post!

Hello everyone!

This is my first official post and I couldn’t be more excited (and nervous) about it! I haven’t really ever blogged besides my bookstagram, if that even counts, and doing RP type things in the past. As it turns out, I have really missed writing and reading. This past year and a half I have really gotten back into the reading groove, so I am very late to many fandoms such as The Mortal Instruments, Outlander, and Throne of Glass. Even though it took me a long time to get to this point, I am very glad to have reading back in my life. It offers an escape that I have really needed and who doesn’t love getting lost in a story?

So to bring the two together, I decided to start a blog. I have been wanting to do reviews that I can post elsewhere besides Goodreads because I find it hard to post something without spoilers there and in a way, I can have someone to discuss them with. At least on this blog, I have the ability to show that but keep it closed off as well for anyone who hasn’t read the book yet while revealing what I truly thought of it. I do believe I am going to try and do a review on Glass Sword since it was one of my most recent reads and it is the most fresh in my mind besides Dragonfly in Amber. Keep a look out for them!

Another way I wanted to bring both writing and reading together, is by having a writing prompt once a week where all of you can use the prompt and submit short stories to my email. They will be listed in the “Writing Wednesday” tab up above in the menu. On that tab, the directions will be listed and how I will be posting the stories. I hope this will be as much of a creative outlet for you guys as well as for me. The first one is up and I will hopefully be posting a few submissions on Thursday.

I’ll also be posting about  any book hauls or bookish things I am up to. There’s a couple of bookish projects that I have been up to, but they are still in the “figure out” and testing process so it may be a while before I reveal any of that! I work a twelve hour shift on Tuesday and Wednesday, so if I’m a little silent on Instagram, that is why.

Anyways! I am nervous about this journey, but as with Instagram, I am thankful for all of you who have been supportive about this and my book photos. Please be patient with me while I work out the kinks of everything!
